As some of you know, I’m a touch of a makeup enthusiast. In the
right hands it has the power to leave you Glo-worthy but in the wrong hands
you can look like a drag queen gone to the dark side…So what’s
the secret? Here are a couple things to keep in mind when wanting to expand
on your knowledge of how to do makeup the “right way.”
First off make sure you have a truly quality set of brushes.
Many now can be found quite affordable at places like Sephora. I personally
use and love their “High Definition/HD” Brushes. Spend a little
bit of money here though and shy away from the ones found at Target or
Walgreens as there not doing you any favors as far as application is concerned.
The next thing to think about is finding a good foundation
that won’t make you break out of leave you with the tell-tale line
of horror on your jaw. Here I suggest using a lovely tinted moisturizer
that still has some coverage. Even if they aren’t exactly your shade
they will still tend to blend flawlessly and provide a touch more protection
from the sun without clogging your pores. If you need additional coverage
get it out of your concealer.
Lastly, if you tend to get really shiny and your makeup
wears off quickly during the summer consider replacing your face powder
with blotting papers that you can stick in your purse and have at the
ready for touch ups. These don’t necessarily need to be an expensive
brand but they’ll remove surface oil without leaving a layer of
powder in it’s wake to clog the pores.
If you don’t feel like you know what your doing when it comes to
makeup I highly suggest getting a tutorial rather than getting stuck in
a rut. Glo offers the “High
Maintenance Makeup Lesson” that
will leave you a lot more confident in your makeup prowess! Book one online

Spring
Has Sprung by By
Cara Kinsell, Massage Therapist
Topic: Sports Massage for Runners
Today felt like the first real day of spring (although a little tardy).
My motivation immediately came back to me, all I wanted to do was be outside
and I felt like I needed to get my body moving! Which brings me to
my first newsletter topic: Sports massage for runners.
Caring for your body is very important as you start building up the miles
and routine. The main area of focus when doing sports massage are the
legs, shins, calves, hamstrings, Achilles tendons and strain on the feet.
Massage therapy offers increased circulation and helps remove the lactic
acid (which is the sore feeling after a run). Mixing a sports massage
with a relaxing therapeutic massage is a nice balance to help clean out
the tightness of winter. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Stay tuned for our Glo Warming Party this summer (I know,
I know we’ve been a bit slow to part-ay but the wait will be worth
it!) We don’t want to give to much away at present, but be assured
their will plenty of surprises and delights in store!!
